How We Got Our Start...

Long before Randy Van Den Elzen, owner of Van's, began his business he had found his passion in heating and air conditioning. This passion was founded in the knowledge and belief that heating and air conditioning was more than just a machine pushing hot or cold air around, it also has the capacity to bring people personalized comfort and health.

With the advent of high efficiency equipment entering the market, the local industry lagged behind in updating itself. He also realized that many people had no idea what this new technology could do for them! Randy then did the only thing he could to spread the word, in 1979 he founded Van's Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. His goal was, and still is, to bring the best products, highest quality service, and unmatched comfort and safety to people, their families, and their homes. Over the years Van's success stemmed from those goals, all of the Van's employees, and of course the loyal customers we serve everyday.

Certifications

At Van's we require that all of our specialists demonstrate they possess the knowledge to properly install and maintain our products by acquiring important industry certifications.

 

 

NATE North American Technician Excellence, Inc.

NATE is the leading certification program for technicians in the heating, ventilation's, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC-R) industry. It is the only test supported by the entire industry. There are several NATE tests that our service and installation technicians must pass in order to be fully certified. Once they pass the initial tests, our technicians are required to meet a certain amount of ongoing training each and every year.

 

 

HEE Heat Exchanger Experts

Van's technicians are certified heat exchanger inspectors. Every technician must go through this course in order to ensure your safety. During this certification process technicians learn how to properly check every heat exchanger design on the market. Often cracks and leaks in heat exchangers are missed when in hard to see areas or when the specialist is unaware of how to go about checking for cracks or leaks. With every furnace tune-up, a heat exchanger inspection is necessary and mandatory for our technicians.

 

 

NCI National Comfort Institute

NCI is one of the country's top training and certification organizations. Training from NCI differs from the average service training program. Our technicians learn to do more than just simply fix or replace equipment. They learn to focus on maximizing the comfort, safety, and energy efficiency of the whole system. NCI also provides specialized ongoing training in air diagnostics, air balancing, carbon monoxide safety and testing, combustion analysis, mold avoidance and liability protection, and indoor air quality (IAQ).

 

 

Heart & Lung Foundation

Van's is recognized by the Heart and Lung Foundation as a designated community information center and indoor air resource center for health providers, hospitals, clinical outpatients, community businesses, and residential homes.
